Graveside services for Leland Dennis Gaston, 56, of Marlin and formerly of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Sunday at Gause City Cemetery.
The Rev. Dan Bates will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hillier Funeral Home.
Mr. Gaston died Wednesday at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Temple.
He was born in Bryan and was a former signal maintainer for Southern Pacific Railroad. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen and was known as "Windjammer" with the Heart of Texas Skip Talkers Club.
Mr. Gaston served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Putz Gaston of Bryan; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven Dennis and Teri Gaston of Snook, Scott Jerome Gaston of Bryan and Shawn Eric Gaston of College Station; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Eugene and Kathy Gaston and Billie Ray and Dawn Gaston, all of Virginia, and Darrell Wayne and Betty Gaston of North Zulch; a stepbrother, Ronnie Gaston of Old Ocean; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Bonita and Ronnie Hamburg of Iola, Susan and Gary Pille of Midlothian and Elaine and Ricky Palasota and Mary Jane Gaston, all of North Zulch; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center or St. Joseph Regional Health Care Center.
