Carl Thomas Erskine

February 21, 1934 – August 2, 2008

Carl Thomas Erskine was called to rest on Saturday, August 2, 2008.

He was born February 21, 1934 to Mary Harlan Erskine and Carl Cavitt Erskine in Marlin and grew up in the Stranger Community.

Mr. Erskine graduated from Marlin High School in 1952 and entered the Air Force in 1953 and served four years. He worked at General Tire for 28 years.

He and Joyce H. McMurray were married on April 26, 1986.

His parents preceded him in death.

Tommy leaves his memories to cherish with his wife Joyce Erskine of Hewitt; sisters, Betty Sprott of Marlin, Lou Traigs of San Antonio; brother, Don Erskine of Kingsland, TX; two sons, Carl Erskine of Hubbard and David Erskine of Groesbeck; a very special step-son, David McMurray of Hewitt; four granddaughters, eight step-kids, 20 step-grandkids and 22 step-great-grandkids.

The viewing will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 6 at the Oakcrest Funeral in Waco. Burial will be held at the gravesite at Stranger Cemetery in the Stranger Community at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008.

He was very well loved and will be freatly missed.
