Merlin M. Eakin
Merlin M. Eakin of Groves, a native of Chilton and owner and operator of Mer-Mac Equipment Co., died May 26 at his residence. He was 72.
Services were held May 28 at Levingston Funeral in Groves, the Rev. John B. Cullen officiated. Burial was at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Mr. Eakin was born March 19, 1921, in Chilton. He had been a resident of Groves for the past 38 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Groves.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Eakin; his mother, Zadie Eakin of Chilton; two sons, Tim Eakin and Randy Eakin, both of Groves; a sister, Mary S. Eakin of Chilton; a brother, Bill Eakin of Houston; and a grandson.
Levingston Funeral in Groves was in charge of arrangements.
