Mrs. Julia A. Curry died Saturday morning at 5:45 o'clock at the of her son,
A.O. Curry,529 Houghton avenue from which place the funeral was
conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with services at the
residence. She was 84 years of age.
Mrs. Curry, who was Miss Julia A. Logan. was married in Mississippi to Moses
H. Curry, who died about 20 years ago, and the following five sons
survive her, all living in Marlin: A. B. Curry, C. T. Curry, O. E.
Curry, A. O. Curry, and B. C. Curry.
Mr. and Mrs. Curry moved to Marlin about 1866, and the family has resided
here continuously since that time. Moses H. Curry, the husband was
prominent in the affairs of this county for a quarter of a century,
and until his death. He was superintendent of the Baptist Sunday
School for twenty- three years.
Mrs. Curry, known as affectionately as "Grandma" Curry, posssessed a noble
Christian character and her life was consecrated.
A niece, Mrs. Burgess, and her husband, who live in Conroe, came to Marlin
for the funeral.
Her grandson Irby, also arrived Sunday from Vanderbilt, Nashville. He was
apprised Friday of the serious illness of his grandmother and left
Friday night for Marlin.
