AGNES (HARLAN) CROW
Agnes Crow Agnes Harlan Crow, 79, of Waco,
wife of Fred B. Crow was taken from us Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004. Memorial service
will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church with the Rev.
Janne Alro Osborne officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
Agnes was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Marlin, the daughter
of the late Josephine Torrence Harlan and Thomas Daniel Harlan. She graduated
from Marlin Public Schools, enrolled at Baylor University in 1941, attended
Washington College in Chestertown Md., and graduated from Baylor University in
1950. She was a charter member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and president of
the St. Catherine's Women's Guild in 1971. She also served on the board of The
Salvation Army, was a member of the Junior League of Waco, an avid bridge player
and a member of the Ridgewood Women's Golf Association. She and Fred spent time
watching Texas Rangers baseball games, attending sporting events at Baylor and
enjoyed reunions with Annapolis friends. They traveled to Europe and made annual
visits to Lake McQueeney.
Aggie, as her friends called her, met Fred on a blind
date at Baylor University when he was for the summer from the Naval Academy, in
Annapolis. Md. They were married June 14, 1944, in Marlin. After Fred's tour of
duty during WWII, they settled in Waco, raised two children and made many
lifelong friends. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frederick
Boone Crow; daughter, Paula Crow Rothe and husband, Mike, of New Braunfels; son,
Jimmy Harlan Crow and wife, Pat. of Waco; sister, Julia Vinson, of Marlin. She
also leaves her legacy through grandchildren, Scott Crow and wife, Heather and
Kevin Crow and wife. Allison.
