With a bullet wound in his head, jut over the right eye, lying in a pool of
blood, witha 38 calibre revolver near his side, one chamber of which
was empty, the body of J.A. Coor, a carpenter, aged about 65, was
found in his here yesterday afternoon. The act was committed while
Mr. Coor was in the house along. The discovery was made by his
daughter, Miss Minnie Coor, about 5:30 yesterday afternoon. The body
was still warm when found, and it is believed that Mr. Coor died
just a short time before his daughter reached the house.
The remains were viewed by Justice of the Peace W. A. Teer. The funeral will
take place tomorrow morning, with interment at Mart.
Mr. Coor is survived, in addition to this daughter at this place, by another
daughter, Mrs. Miller, who lives at Jacksonville. He also has two
sons, Allie Coor, engineer for the I. & G. N. who lives here, and
Tom Coor, who also lives in Mart, but who has been attending a
dental college in Houston.
