BIG SPRING —
Services for Ellis Cooper, 64, of Big Spring are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at
Myers & Smith Chapel in Big Spring. The Rev. Michael Willard of Mount Bethel
Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mount
Moriah Cemetery in Marlin with The Rev. Patterson of Mount Moriah Baptist Church
officiating.
Arrangements are
under the direction of Myers & Smith Funeral in Big Spring.
Mr. Cooper died
Tuesday at Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring.
He was born in
Marque, Texas. After moving to Calvert, He united with Shiloh Baptist Church. He
was also a member of the Northside Baptist Church. He attended public school in
Marque, Hammond and Bremond.
He worked for
South Pacific Railroad for five years, RBC Construction for 12 years and M&M
Construction for 21 years.
Survivors
include his wife, Velma D. Cooper of Big Spring; three daughters, Hellen Joyce
Taylor of Waco, Carol Denise Jackson and Cynthia Elaine Johnson, both of Big
Spring; three sons, Ellis Ray Cooper of Big Spring, Kenith Wayne Cooper of Hope
Mill, N.C., and Kevin Lee Cooper of Big Spring; two sisters, Hellen Williamson
and Della Norma, both of Waco; 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
