James
Cyrus Coker, of Lott, died in a Dallas hospital Friday, Nov. 21. He was
73.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in
Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral in Rosebud. Dr. Richard Jenkins
officiated. Burial followed in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.
Mr. Coker was born in Fort Deposit, Ala.
He lived in Falls County since 1934. He was a farmer and a rancher and
served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Cedar Springs
United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia of Lott;
three sons, Wayne Coker of Lake Jackson, Dale Coker and Dwane Coker, both of
Lott; three daughters, Jean Marsico of Stafford, Va., Margaret Moore of
Jacksonville, Wanda Coker of Waco; three brothers, Clyde Coker of Rosebud, John
Lee Coker of Commanche, Jack Coker of Atlanta, Ga.; five sisters, Mary Belle
Vaughn of Houston, Carolyn Sue Hughes of College Station, Jeanette Coker of
Santa Fe, N.M., Leona Rutherford of Grafton, N.C. and JoAnn Norris of
Montgomery, Al.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Coker.
