Services Held
Mrs. C. L. (Rebecca Ellen) Clark, age 86, of Groves, formerly of Cego, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1976, in a Groves nursing home.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Adams Funeral Chapel in Marlin with Rev. A. A. Bratcher officiating. Burial was in Waco Memorial Park.
Mrs. Clark was born December 29, 1889 at Hope, Arkansas. The family moved to Texas when she was six weeks old and settled in Falls County.
She married Mr. Charles Lubin Clark in November, 1911 and the couple lived in the Eddy and Cego communities all of their married life.
She and Mr. Clark were well known in Central Texas for their singing ability and sang at many functions throughout the area.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eddy where she had served as Sunday School secretary and in the church choir for many years.
She is survived by her husband of Groves and Cego; two sons, Curtis L. Clark of
Houston and Turner Reginald Clark of
Clarksville, Arkansas; a daughter, Mrs. Merlin (Margaret) Eakin of Groves; two
sisters, Mrs. Eula Moore and Mrs. Margaret Whetstone, both of Waco; six
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
