Vinnie Margaret (Hays) Cernosek
Vinnie Margaret Cernosek, 82, passed away in her on the morning of Thursday,
April 20, 2006.
Vinnie Margaret
was born in Calvert, on March 21, 1924, to Marcia and Elgin Hays. She was a
graduate of Marlin High School and continued onto business school in Dallas.
After finishing business school, she worked in various jobs until she went to
work with the Bureau of Hearings and Appeals of the Social Security
Administration in 1974. In 1978, she assisted in organizing their north Dallas
office where she became the first Operations Office Manager. She remained in
that capacity until she retired December 31, 1988. She was always enthusiastic
and dedicated toward her occupation and to the people with whom she worked. She
loved her work and enjoyed helping people. Even after retirement, she continued
to keep in contact with her friends and former coworkers.
Vinnie Margaret
will long be remembered as an endearing and supportive individual. She loved the
city and adored traveling in the theater business with her husband, Edmund. She
treasured children and having none of her own, became a second mother to many of
her nieces and nephews, who will cherish her memory. She was an extraordinary
person and will be deeply missed in the hearts of many.
Her husband of
56 years, Edmund Henry Cernosek, and her brother Edward Louis Hays precedes her
in death.
She is survived
by one sister, Virginia Hays Torbett of Marlin; brother, Glenn Hays of Dallas;
nephews Oscar Lee Torbett III, and wife Gale of Irving, Michael Torbett and wife
Judy of Kingwood, Edward Hays Jr., and wife Laura of Marlin, Todd Hays and wife
Teri of Dallas; niece, Julie Hays Smith and husband, Scott of Plano;
great-nephews Jon Torbett and Collin Smith; great-nieces Donas Quin, Tara Deck
and husband Stacy; goddaughter and niece Loralee Farmer and husband Cory, Amanda
Cowart Kiraly, Leslie Torbett, and Savannah Hays, as well as one great-great
niece and seven great-great nephews.
Pallbearers will
be Oscar Lee Torbett III, Michael Torbett, Edward Hays, Jr., Todd Hays, Bill
Sams, Thomas Criswell II, Cory Farmer, and Tom Warner. Honorary pallbearers will
be Jon Torbett, Norman Harris, Ernest Bezdek and Jack Bouldin.
Visitation was
held Sunday, April 23, 2006, Adams Funeral in Marlin, with services being held
Monday, April 24, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gary Clark officiating at Adams Funeral
Chapel with burial following at Hillcrest Cemetery.

made to the First United Methodist Church, 411 Coleman Street, Marlin, Texas
76661.
