MRS. LAURA CARPENTER
Mrs. Charles (Laura) Carpenter, 77, of Waco, formerly of
Marlin, died Tuesday in a Waco hospital.
Graveside services were held this morning in Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin.
Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiated.
Mrs. Carpenter was born Sept. 5, 1911 in Whatley, Ala., the daughter of John
Robert Patillo and Alice Gough Patillo.
She married Charles Leroy Carpenter July 21, 1931 in Marlin.
The couple had resided in Bryan and Victoria prior to moving to Elm Mott in
1976.
Survivors include her husband of Waco; two sons, Chuck Carpenter and Bill
Carpenter of Elm Mott; three brothers W. J. Patillo of Mission Tiejo, Calif.,
Lawrence Patillo of Lawrenceville, Ga., and George Edward Patillo of Hallsburg;
one sister, Mrs. John Sims of Chilton; four grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
