Willie James Carey
March 14, 1951 - March 12, 2007
Funeral services
for Justice of the Peace Pct. 2, Judge Willie James Carey will be Saturday,
March 17 at 1 p.m. at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Wm.
Johnson Jr., pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at the Falls County Cemetery
in Marlin.
Visitation was
scheduled at the Robertson Funeral on Friday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the
body to lie in state at the Zion Hill Church until time of services on Saturday.
Willie James
Carey was born on March 14, 1951 in Falls County, Texas, the third child, to Mr.
and Mrs. Luther Carey. He was a member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist
Church where he was a member of the Usher Board and president of The
Brotherhood.
He graduated
from Booker T. Washington High School in Marlin in 1970. He enlisted and served
in the United States Military for two years. He was employed at the VA Medical
Center in Marlin and Temple, retiring after 30 years.
Mr. Carey died
Monday, March 12, 2007.
Survivors
include his mother, Mrs. Lucille Carey, of Marlin; two daughters, Rhonda Welch
and Jena Soto, both of Marlin; two sons, Maurice Carey of San Antonio and
Domonique Carey of Groesbeck; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one
sister, Mary Jo Carey of Killeen; three brothers, George Carey of Marlin,
Nathaniel Carroll and Robert "Ricky" (Marjorie) Carroll of Fort Worth; one
uncle, Eddie Lewis of Dallas; one aunt, Mary Hill, of Florida; a very special
niece, Rolonda "Cookie" Bannerman of Killeen; a devoted friend, Mary Turner of
Marlin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will
include Falls County Sheriff's Deputies Lt. Quincy Lee, Deputy Brandon LeFevre,
and Deputy Pat Cronin and from the Marlin Police Department, Chief Tom Hamilton,
Asst. Chief Darrel Allen, and Sgt. Derrick Young.
Robertson
Funeral in Marlin is in charge of arrangements.
