Funeral Services Held For Victim of
Tornado
Deceased, A Native Of Germany,
Had Resided In United States
Since Twenty Years Of Age;
Funeral At Cego
Funeral services for Mrs. E. J. Behnke, 62,
of Cego, who died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday from injuries sustained when her
residence was wrecked by a tornado, were held at 3 p.m. Friday from the St.
Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church at Cego. Rev. Irvin C. Wolff of Waco and
Rev. Julius Reichert of Seguin officiated at the services.
Burial was in the Cego cemetery. Preceding
the services at Cego, brief rites were held at Horne Funeral Home, Lott.
Mrs. Behnke is survived by her husband;
three daughters, Mrs. O. F. Kunze, Otto; Mrs. Alec Gummelt of Greenvine, and
Mrs. F. A. Schramm, Waco; three sons, Max, Conrad and Willie Behnke, all of
Cego; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Groppel of Robinson, Mrs. Emma Locksteadt of
Bryan, and another who lives in Germany; a brother, Paul Benthin, of Pittsburgh,
Pa.
Mrs. Behnke was born in Germany and came to
the United States when she was 20 years of age. She had lived near Cego for the
past several years.
