     Ruby Burton, 88, of Minneapolis, formerly of Dallas, Texas, went to be with her Heavenly Father January 11, 2001. Born in Limestone County to the union of Annie and Sip Hicks, August 24, 1912. She attended school in Long Branch and moved to Dallas at the age of 18, to attend Madam C. J. Walker Beauty School. In 1932, Ruby married Felix Burton. She was the proprietor of Bourbon Street Beauty Shop, Myrtle Street. Survivors: niece, Jacqueline (Billy) Massingill, Minneapolis, Velma Hicks of Dallas; nephew, Robert (Mabel) Hicks, Columbus, Ga, and Ulyess of Dallas; special light in her life, Bobby Miles; a host of other great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 11:00 am, Friday, January 19, 2001, Porter Temple, C. M. E. Rev. W. E. Stone, officiating. Interment, Long Branch Cemetery.
