Arthur Brown, who was a familiar figure on the streets of this city for five or
six years past, died at the Rice-Allen infirmary Friday afternoon.
Deceased, while ill, several years ago, became addicted to the use of poisonous
drugs, the excessive use of which finally produced death. He was a native of
Germany and well connected in the old country. He also has a brother at Wharton,
Texas. He was liberally educated, speaking a number of languages fluently.
The remains were interred in the city cemetery this afternoon at 3 o'clock,
services being held at the Catholic church conducted by Father Pfiffner.
