DR. S. P. BROOKS HELD TODAY
Body Lies in State at Waco Hall--
Tribute Paid to Departed by
Friends and Associates.

Funeral services for Dr. S. P. Brooks, president of Baylor University, who died
early Thursday after a long illness, were held this afternoon at Waco Hall.
The body lay in state in the rotunda of the hall from 12:30 to 2:30.
Ministers, laymen, citizens, friends and
associates paid loving tribute to the memory of deceased.
Dr. Brooks had a large circle of friends in
Marlin. He spent several days here for treatment, during which the vital
seriousness of his illness developed and was taken from here to the Baptist
sanitarium at Waco.
