     Atlene Yvonne Jackson Brockington away December 10.2008, in Waco. Services will be 11: a.m. Saturday. at Pleasant Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1600 League St. in Waco. Atlene was born N ov. 12, 1944, in Calvert, Texas, to Charlie and Ella Jackson. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Marlin. While attending Huston-Tillotson College in Austin, she met the love of her life, Jerry Brockington, and married him on July 23, 1966. Atlene received her nursing certification from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing at University of Texas at Arlington. Atlene was a devoted alumnus of Booker T. Washington Alumni Association and proud member of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority. She was a Registered Nurse at Providence Health Center for 35 years. Atlene is preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Kevin Marquelle Brockington. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Jerry; son, Jerry Brockington Jr.; daughter, Michelle Brockington; two grandsons, Shaquille Campbell and Daron Brockington; granddaughter, Alexis Brockington; two brothers, Charlie Jackson ad wife, Debra and Andrew Jackson; brother-in-law, Jimmie Brockington; three sisters-in- law, Gale Williams and husband, Charles, Bobbie McLamb and husband, Waymon and Brenda Hennington and husband, Ronald; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
