IN MEMORIAM

Mrs. Mary Priscilla Barclay passed from earth to her reward January 31, 1913, from her in Stranger, Falls County, Texas.

Aunt Mary, as she was familiarly called, came from Tennessee to Texas when about 10 years old, and has lived in Falls county ever since. Her maiden name was Long. She was married to William A. Barclay, January 12, 1858. From that union ten children were born, five sons, and five daughters, all of whom are living. At her death Aunt Mary was 78 years old having spent a long and useful life, serving her day and generation as the Lord's handmaiden in the way marked out by the teaching of the bible.

As a wife and mother, she was of the class that Paul commended "keeper of a home." As a Christian, her "adorning was of the meek and quiet sprit," which Paul says is "in the sight of God most precious." In her this sainted mother was the idol, her children vieing with each other in trying to make her last days happy. When taken sick she told her loved ones that this would be last sickness, and not to mourn for her, as she was ready and willing to go. But in vain we try to dry our tears. Our hearts are sad at the separation of one so lovely. Our sorrow is sweetened with the hope of meeting her where parting is no more.

May her children all meet her is the prayer of her pastor,

A. Barclay,
Pastor of Baptist Church, Stranger, Texas
