D. L. BOWERS
D. L. Bowers, 86, retired farmer and real estate dealer, died
at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, in Killeen while visiting in his foster daughter's home.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lorena Methodist Church, Rev. C. A.
Mangham and Rev. James M. Cooper and Rev. Brewton of Killeen officiating.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Frances Jones Bowers of Lorena, a foster daughter,
Mrs. A. H. Curtis, of Killeen; a sister, Mrs. Ben Taylor, of Marlin; several
nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: W. P. Evans, Jr.; George Lindville; Thomas McBrayer; Charles
Royals; John Hollis; and Charles Evans.

MRS. BEN TAYLOR'S BROTHER
DIES AT KILLEEN ON SUNDAY
D. L. Bowers, 86, retired farmer and real estate dealer, died
at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 1954 in Killeen while visiting in his foster
daughter's home.
He was born in Mississippi and moved to Falls County as a child. He lived
in Lorena for 50 years.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lorena Methodist Church, Rev. C. A.
Mangham and Rev. James M. Cooper officiating. Burial in Oakwood cemetery
at Waco.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Frances Jones Bowers, of Lorena; a foster
daughter, Mrs. A. H. Curtis, of Killeen; a sister, Mrs. Ben Taylor, of Marlin;
several nieces and nephews.
