OBITUARY

Died, last
Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at Blevins, Falls County, Mrs. Daniel Bowers,
familiarly known and loved as Grandma Bowers, wife of D. Bowers, who died in
September, 1915.
Grandma Bowers resided at Blevins for 27
years, and was loved and honored by all who knew her; was born in North Carolina
in 1831, age 86 years, her maiden name being Aurillia King; was married to D.
Bowers in 1847 in North Carolina, moved to Mississippi in 1849, came to Texas in
1886.
To this union was born nine children, five
of whom survive her, they being James C., William F., Mrs. S. A. Parham of
Blevins; Mrs. B. L. Taylor of Marlin; D. L. Bowers of Lorena. Besides the
children, she is survived by 32 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
She lived an exemplary, unassuming, sacrificing life, loyal to her friends,
faithful to her God and her loved ones. The funeral services were
conducted by Rev. Charlie Clark, a close personal friend of the family.
She was buried by the side of her husband in the Blevins Cemetery Friday
afternoon, April 6.
Deceased was a patient and loving mother, a
true companion and friend to all.
