Brief Illness Fatal To
Native Texas At Chilton

Funeral Services At Chilton
Friday Afternoon

 

     P. W. Adams, 74, who has resided in the vicinity of Chilton some 60 years, died in his sleep Thursday morning at his residence in Chilton after an illness lasting only two days. Mr. Adams was discovered dead in his bed around 6:30 a.m. Thursday and physicians said that death had occurred around 6:00 a.m.

 

     Deceased was born near Belton in August, 1864 and moved to the Chilton area when a boy with his parents. He was married to Miss Louisa Meyers on Dec. 18, 1887 at the of his sister, the late Mrs. Henry Greer. They observed their Golden Wedding Dec. 18, 1937, at their residence in Chilton.

 

     Deceased had engaged in farming until just recently when he retired from active work.

 

     He is survived by his wife and the following children, Mrs. Jessie Adams Urquhart, T. Jeff Adams, Stewart Adams, Mrs. Bess Adams Morton, Dewey Adams, Bill Adams, Boyd Adams, Floyie Adams and Mrs. Mamie Adams Rachuig of Sugarland; one sister, Mrs. Bud Jacobs of Waxahachie and a number of grandchildren.

 

     Funeral services were announced for 3 p.m. Friday from the late residence at Chilton. Burial will be in the Chilton cemetery. His six sons will act as pallbearers.
