In Memory of Mrs. J. N. Adams
~~~~~
   Mrs. Malinda Caroline Adams, wife of J. N. Adams, departed this life October 19th, at 3:15 a.m.  Her remains were laid to rest in the Hope cemetery.  The funeral service was conducted on the evening following her death about 5 o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. C. G. Howard of the First Baptist church of Marlin.
   Mrs. Adams was born July 25th, 1847, at Cuthbert, Georgia, where she lived until the family moved to Texas.  She was married in 1869 to J. N. Adams at Brookville, Ga.  She became a member of the Baptist church in 1863, being a consistent member until her death.  She was the daughter of John and Malinda Bridges.  She leaves one sister, Mrs. Arthur Knickerbocker, and two sons and three daughters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss, but her going away leaves them desolate and heart-broken, but not without hope.  We know that the has been made sad by her departure, but feel like there is another angel in heaven.
We saw not the white-robed angel,
 As it entered with folded wing,
To summon our mother
 To the arms of our Heavenly King,
A precious one from us is gone;
 A voice loved is stilled.
There is a vacant place in our
 That never can be filled.
                                          A Friend.
