WINNERS LISTED IN JUDGING
OF LIGHTED HOMES
Winners were learned Monday in last week's judging of
Christmas-lighted homes in a contest sponsored by the Marlin Council of Garden
Clubs.
In the three divisions, or categories, in which there were entries, the
following two winners were named in each class:
Homes-over-all--First prize, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stem, 407 Gift Street; second,
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gray, 418 Maryland Avenue.
Christmas Doors--First, Mrs. Lee Phillips, 400 Capps Street; second, Mrs. Mary
Catherine Mossman, 406 Gift Street.
Christmas Tree Seen from Street--First, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. (Bill)
Kirkpatrick, Westwood Drive; second, Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Reese, also Westwood
Drive.
Originally there were five categories, No entries were received in the
classifications of Rural Homes and Christmas Windows.
The winners received cash awards.
