DYNAMITE, CAPS
STOLEN FROM SHELL TRAILER
Sheriff Brady Pamplin's department was still without clues
Monday in last Thursday night's break-in on a Shell Oil Co. storage trailer in
which 50 pounds of five-pound stick dynamite and 10 detonating caps were stolen.
This was the second recent break-in at the trailer. In the first robbery
15 pounds of dynamite and several caps were taken. In both cases the
trailer was entered by breaking open a door.
The trailer is located at the site of a seismograph drilling operation in the
Marlin vicinity.
Deputy Sheriffs Robert Sharp and John Curtis have issued a special warning as to
the danger of the dynamite and caps, in the event they are in the hands of
youth.
Police detectives at Waco are reported investigating the possibility that the
two Falls County burglaries might be connected with the wave of safe burlaries
in that city.
