Federal officers swooped down on Chilton Wednesday afternoon, arresting two of a
group of men they met on the road for being intoxicated and transporting liquor.
The men were turned over to local authorities and lodged in the Marlin jail.
Demonstration Club Meets.
The Ladies Demonstration Club met at the Mrs. Urquhart's Tuesday. There
were seven members present. Roll call was answered by Christmas presents
that children can make. Mrs. Syd Eakin made a most interesting talk on
"Book and Magazines in the Home," and reading in the home. Mrs. Earls
demonstrated hominy making and told that three gallons of corn would make 40
cans of hominy. It was decided to have a Christmas program and social at
the of Mrs. S. W. Gaines Friday, December 18, from two to four p. m. Every
member is urged to be present. Mrs. Urquhart served chocolate and cake.
