SCOUT EXECUTIVE SAYS
TROOP MAKING PROGRESS
Confers With Chairman of Scouting
in Marlin Regarding
Future Plans
Troop 37 of
Marlin is making very fine progress under the leadership of S. E. Sebesta,
scoutmaster, according to A. J. Lawrence, scout executive of the Heart O'Texas
Council, who visited with Mr. Sebesta this week. At a recent meeting with
Mr. Sebesta and his patrol leaders, Mr. Lawrence outlined the plan of conducting
scout meetings as used by other troops in the council and Troop 37 has been
using this plan very effectively since that time. The troop conducted a
"Mystery Hike" the other night and according to Sebesta had a very exciting and
thrilling experience.
Lawrence conferred with Cecil Glass, chairman of scouting in Marlin, on his trip
and Mr. Glass outlined with him some suggestions and proposals to be given to
the District No. 5 board which supervises scouting in Falls County. Glass
is a member of this board and represents Marlin on it. Roy Robertson of
Rosebud is chairman of this board which meets monthly to discuss the ways of
bettering scouting in the towns of the district.
