CANVASSED AT MEETING
Other Matters Receive Attention at
Session of Marlin School
Trustee
Results of the
school trustee election held Saturday were canvassed
by the board of trustees of teh Marlin independent school district at its
regular April session Tuesday night. G. H. Olinger, J. G. Barganier, Dave
Denning and L. A. Robinson were declared re-elected and took the oath of office.
Teachers named to conduct summer school were Mesdames Beulah Milam and Raymond
Barnett for the high school, Mrs. A. C. Dunn and Miss Louise Peyton for the
elementary school.
Report of the auditing committee was received and some equipment was ordered.
April 20 was set as the date of the annual spring holiday.
The meeting was preceded by the annual dinner for the board of trustees prepared
and served by girls of the senior economics class, the appetizing menu being
highly commended by the guests.
Decorations attractive.
Blue and yellow
were the chosen colors for the affair, a centerpiece of bluebonnets adorning the
table. Bluebonnets also were placed effectively about the room.
Place cards were of blue with yellow nut cups and candles shades.
The menu included oyster cocktail, entre, creamed chicken in patty case, breaded
veal chops, asparagus, duchess potatoes, creamed peas, scalloped apples, Parker
house rolls, pear salad, pineapple dressing, brownbread sandwiches, strawberry
ice cream, French cakes, demitasse, mints and nuts.
Those who served were Fannie Alexander, Alyce Fae Steele, Agnes Scheef, Elmerine
Bayless, Ruby Coone, Lois Oliver.
The guest list included Messrs. G. W. Glass, T. C. Linthicum, G. H. Olinger,
Dave Denning, J. G. Barganier, L. A. Robinson and Dr. N. D. Buie.
