MARLIN NAVAL OFFICER
ARRIVES on VISIT

Completes Month's Flying Course
and Has Been Assigned
to Ship.

Ensign James ("Pete") Murphy of the United States navy has arrived in Marlin on
a visit from San Diego, Calif., where he has just completed a month's naval
aviation course. He has already had the experience of solo flying and is
enthused over the naval serial service.
Ensign Murphy will remain in Marlin until
August 22 when his is slated to leave for San Francisco, Calif., where he will
go aboard the U. S. S. Tennessee, to which he has been assigned.
He completed a four-year course at the
United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., in June, having been graduated
from Marlin High school and attending A. and M. College of Texas before entering
that institution.
