To The Democrat:
On November 10 Miss Jacks visited the of our pantry demonstrator, Mrs. E. O.
Burus. Six of the club members were present to enjoy Miss Jacks talk.
We had bcome discouraged in the club work but she gave us a desire to press on,
beginning now to plan our gardens for another spring.
Miss Jacks told us of the meat curing and canning schools to be held soon.
Elder A. A. Watts, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Burus, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lewis are
expected to (missing) from this club and it is supposed any one else that cares
to attend.
Because our meeting day for the last of the month falls on Thanksgiving day it
was thought best to call the meeting for Monday, Nov. 23. Meeting to be held at
the schoolhouse at 2 p.m. The club ladies expect to meet Miss Jacks at the
of Mrs. George Ray soon where she will give a demonstration in yard planning and
planting for the club girls, but since both clubs are interested in that work
now the ladies can get a lesson too as Miss Jacks didn't think she could meet
with the ladies separately. It seems our community is in the midst of
native shrubs suitable for yard planting.
Our school is progressing nicely. The children were given a holiday on
Armistice day. The teachers, Misses Suttle and Magee going to Groesbeeck
