COUNTY FARM AGENT MEETS
WITH MOOREVILLE BOYS
Number of Students Won Places in
Interscholastic League
Meet
Dan Clinton, Falls county farm agent, met with Mooreville club boys
Friday.
At the interscholastic league meet held at Chilton. Effie Collier won
first place in senior girls' declamation: Curtis Boyd was second place in
junior boys' declamation; Edna Ruth McClain and helen Purgerson tied for
first place in the picture memory contest with the team from Durango; and Young
Pool and Davis Collier was third and fourth places in the hundred-yard dash for
seniors.
The girl's 4-H Club elected Margaret Johnson as their delegate to Marlin to
attend the organizaaton of the Girls' County Council on Saturday afternoon.
The P.T.A. met Wednesday and elected the following officers for the ensuing
year.
Mrs. L. M. Newman, presidetn; Mrs. Anson Jones, vice-president; and Mrs. Velma
Burkes, secretary-treasurer. Delegates appointed to represent the local
organization at the County Council next month in Marlin were: Mrs. Burkes,
Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Byrd, and Miss Hallie Crook.
The Women's Demonstration Club has planned a forty-two tournament to be given at
the schoolhouse Saturday night and extend a cordial invitation to everyone.
