Issued During October,
Report Shows
"Peace Day" was the theme
for a program presented at a meeting of the Library Study Club in the lecture
roots of the Majestic-Annex hotel Thursday afternoon.
Preceding the program, a meeting of the
executive committee was held, while during the business session the library
report for October showed 357 books issued, 275 to adults and 82 to juveniles,
with an attendance of 135 adults and 75 juveniles, totaling 210.
Mrs. Dolly Bowers was leader of the
program, with roll call being answered with names of American statesmen.
"The Government's Care of Disabled
Veterans" was discussed by Mrs. Rose Thodberg.
Under the topic, "The Road to Peace," Miss
Mae Hutchings told of the League of Nations, Mesdames Henrietta Signor and J. M.
Eddins gave a discussion of the world court, like F. W. Fink told of the origin
of the world court and Mrs. E. L. Griffin spoke on "Our Flag, What it Stands
For, Its Origin, and How it Got its Name of Old Glory."
