LABOR DAY TOURNAMENT
TO BE HELD in MARLIN

Chamber of Commerce Trophy Cup
to be at Stake in Annual
Event.

The Marlin Chamber of Commerce trophy cup, now held by G. L. Hutchings of
Marlin, will be at stake in a Labor Day golf tournament on the Marlin Country
Club course open to members of clubs affiliated with the Central Texas Nine-Hole
Golf Association.
Others who have held the cup in recent
years include Fred Davis of Marlin, Reed Rogers of Cameron and Captain Besse of
Bryan. In addition to the trophy, which is awarded for low gross score,
prizes valued at $125 will be awarded.
Entries will have the privilege of playing
either Sunday or Monday with prizes to be awarded each day, and they may play
both days, but must designate on which day they are playing for the cup.
Players from Bryan, Temple, Gorgetown
(sic), Mexia, Rosebud, Rockdale, Taylor and other points in this section of the
state are expected to participate in the event, which is held annually.
