Elephant Apparently Enjoys Ride on
Truck--One Tourist in Car
With Bullet Holes In It.
Some strange looking objects pass along the King of Trails these days. For
instance, Saturday an elephant was being transported southward on a truck and
seemed to be enjoying the ride, as though he was accustomed to it.
On either side of the hood was a bale of
hay, the sight of which possibly had something to do with the calm demeanor of
the elephant.
Then Sunday morning a Ford sedan, with its
near side punctured with buckshot or rifle ball holes. The driver stopped
a few minutes here, but so far as known no one asked him how his car came to be
"shot up like that."
