HENSON COLLECTION OF PAINTINGS ON DISPLAY
East Texas Chamber of Commerce Visitors Will Have Chance to
View Them
A collection of paintings valued by the owner, J. E. Henson, at $20,000 and
containing several well-known canvases will be displayed here during the East
Texas Chamber of Commerce convention next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The
exhibit is in the dining room of the Majestic hotel.
Probably the most interesting painting in the display is "The Henner Girl" by
the French artist, Henner. The model for this picture had beautiful hair
of an unusual shade of red
Mr. Henson, who has made 41 trips abroad to accumulate his present art
collection, makes his in Marlin during the winter. He will be here during
the convention and give informal talks on his paintings.
