GRANDMOTHER SCOTT NOT ABLE TO ATTEND REUNION
Beloved Falls County Woman Advanced in Years and Reported Indisposed
For many folks attending the 1931 reunion of the Old Settlers and Confederate Veterans Association at Tomlinson Hill Thursday and Friday of this week, the annual assembly "won't be just the same," for Grandmother Scott of Travis will not be there. More than 90 years of age, Mrs. Scott is indisposed. "I am sorry mother will not be able to attend," states a letter from Miss Mittie Scott of Travis. Judge S.R. Scott of Waco, who annually escorts his mother to the assembly, was a recent visitor with her at Travis and "we think it best for her not to go," the letter adds. Though advanced in years, this beloved Falls county woman has been able to make long automobile trips and otherwise go about at will until recently, and the news that she will be unable to attend the reunion this year will be received with regret by her many friends.
