APPROACH OF AUTOMOBILE
AID TO FREEING LUCKLESS DOG
Canine Caught by Hind Foot in Barbwire
Fence as He was Going Through
While automobiles have killed thousands of dogs, one dog probably owes his life,
or at least escape from much suffering, to an automobile.
It was Sunday afternoon while an automobile
party was out driving along one of the many attractive dry weather biways that
surround Marlin. They heard the agonizing yelps of a canine ahead and to
the right of the road. Coming closer, they discovered that a dog had
fastened a hind leg in a barbwire fence, evidently as he attempted to jump
between the wires, or climb the fence, fence. (sic).
The owner of the dog was located, emerging
from a thicket, and after some difficulty succeeded in extricating the dog from
its predicament.
