(Missing)itial sesson of the city council of Marlin for December was an
unusually brief one for a first-of-the month meeting. Except for a change
in an order of the preceding session, voting on the motion to adjourn was the
only formal action taken.
Dr. A. C. Hornbeck, city health officer,
advised the council no infections or contagious diseases had been reported to
him during the past month. He said some suggestions had been made to
dairymen who hod been supplied reports on the bacteria count of their product
analyzed by the state department of health. Issuance of health
certificates and attention to charity cases were reported.
There was some discussion of the proposed
traffic ordinance which has been pending business before the council for several
months, but no action was taken. It will be on the calendar for the next
meeting.
The council also heard a statement from the
city attorney as to progress in steps to acquire additional acreage for public
park purposes.
The order of the previous meeting changed
was one to purchase 5 1/2 per cent water works bonds. The order was
changed to call for the retirement of the bonds instead of the purchase.
