of Famillies Attend
Homecoming
Mrs. Mary E. Connally
observed her 87th birthday quietly at her near Eddy Saturday with members of her
family gathered about her for the day in keeping with an annual custom.
Those attending the homecoming included her
only son, United States Senator Tom Connally of Marlin, and four of six living
daughters, Mesdames D. S. McKay of Marlin, C. N. Smith of Waco, J. R. Laughlin
and Floy Moore of Eddy, together with other members of their families. Two of
the daughters were unable to be present, Mrs. L. M. Clements, who lives in
Comanche county, and Mrs. W. H. Stayton of Waco, who is with a daughter in St.
Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Connally has been a resident of Falls
county nearly half a century, locating on the place where she now resides in
1882, having previously lived in Brazos and McLennan counties after their
marriage in Georgia following the war between the states.
