Louie Robertson
and family of Elizabeth, New Jersey are visiting relatives in Reagan and
Marlin.
Mrs. J. I. Collier left Wednesday for Navasota, where she was called by the
illness of her mother.
E. H. Donohoo, secretary to Congressman O. H. Cross, and family were in Marlin
from Waco on a visit today.
Mrs. Tom Lee, who was the guest of her niece, Mrs. Howard Smith, left today for
a visit in Austin and San Antonio before returning to her in Atlanta, Ga.
Senator and Mrs. Tom Connally are expected to arrive from Washington, D. C.,
within the next few weeks.
Ionas Gregory, nine-year old daughter of B. Gregory of New Baden, Robertson
county, underwent an operation Tuesday.
M. I. Petteway was brought to a Marlin hospital Thursday for treatment of a
stroke of paralysis suffered at his in the Stranger community.
Miss Frances Gilmore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gilmore of Marlin, made the
honor roll at Baylor University. Miss Gilmore is a graduate of Marlin Hi and
this is her first year at Baylor.
J. Lee Harlan o Marlin had the pleasure of engaging in a long distance telephone
conversation with his son, Lee Harlan, in New York Wednesday night. Lee, who is
attending Columbia University, will receive his master's degree there in the
latter part of May.
Out of town people attending funeral services in Marlin Wednesday afternoon for
R. L. McClanahan, included Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pearsons, Jim McClanahan and family,
P. H. Holmes, Pete Sammons, Jessie Heath and family, Lawrence Reagan and family,
John Holmes and family, Palestine, Buck Sammons, David Nelson of Houston, and
Mrs. Lucy Rains of Waco.
