WITH EXCHANGES.
-----
Col. Geo.
A. Hodges has withdrawn from the newspaper business, after 10 years as editor
and publisher of the Lott Clarion. The Clarion, under his managment, was
placed on a solid basis and is one of the fixtures of Falls county. It
passes to Geo. A. Hodges, Jr., who was raised up in the office and will keep the
Clarion up the standard.
The Easter
edition of the Mart Herald, was a very creditable sheet. It contains
fourteen pages with an illustrated lithographed cover, that is very artistic.
The paper is brim full of advs of Mart merchants. The owner and publisher
is J. F. Kennedy, who was a part of the Democratic force for several years.
Editor
McCollum of the Waco Tribune, announces that he will start a daily issue in May.
The Tribune is one of the best weekly newspaper properities in Texas and there
isn't much doubt that the daily venture will be a success from the start.
