WILL EXTEND TO WACO
-----
Texas Midland Will Build Seventy
Miles From Terrell.
-----
Fort Worth, Tex., Oct. 24.--Surveys have been made, a route selected and work of
extending the Texas Midland railroad from Ennis to Waco, a distance of seventy
miles, will commence soon, according to information obtained from authentic
sources.
Mrs. Hetty Green of New York owns the Texas
Midland, and E. H. R. Green of Terrell and Dallas is president and active in the
management of the road. Stringent money markets do not disturb them, and
there will be no need to borrow money or issue bonds to construct the
seventy-mile extension. Mrs. Green is the reputed richest woman in the
world.
That grading for the extension will
commence within the next few months in the announcement emanating from sources
possessing accurate information. The exact route selected is not made
known, except that the general outline calls for the bisection of the untraveled
counties, splitting the section lying between other railroads.
