Whitecar's Play.
-----
The attraction of W. A. Whitecar in "An Old Sweetheart of Mine," was played to a
a small audience Wednesday night at the Arlington opera house. This play
exceeded the expectations of the spectators owing to the fact that this
attraction was not better known in advance. The part of W. A. Whitecar as
Dick Scott was well played, especially in the dialogue, the only objection is
that the costume did not correspond with the frontier appearance.
The scenic display, especially the western appearance and the artificially made
storm, accompanied the flashes of lightning and peals of thunder, and the aspect
of the tableaux could hardly be improved. The flourish of glittering
pistols was too much for that kind of a western love story. The attraction was
practically a good play, worthy of a good sized audience anywhere, and no one,
after seeing the show, will miss his money at all.
