WAREHOUSE PROSPECTS BETTER.
-----
Committee and Farmers Discuss Pro-
position-Both Want The
Enterprise.
-----
Prospects
for cotton warehouse to be located at Marlin assumed a brighter phase today.
The Falls
county farmers union, in session at the courthouse, indicated their fixed
determination to establish and maintain a warehouse at the county site, provided
that the proper encouragement was given them by the business community.
The union attendance, while not so large in numbers, was representative and the
predominating sentiment was in favor of the warehouse, and those who expressed
themselves, and nearly all present did, were willing to subscribe stock.
Among those who are enthusiastic, on the warehouse position are President
Fields, secretary Armstrong, Paul Pieper, S. E. Fowler, J. L. Sylvester, S. O.
Kelly, Will Neumann, Gus Scheef, R. M. Aiken and many others.
C. W.
Adams, F. E. Hailey, L. E. Allen and J. W. Hoke, representing the committee
appointed by the business league to confer with the union, appeared in open
session for the purpose. The proposition was discussed at length, the
committee urging that the union make some definite proposition for the
consideration of the league. The committee assured the union that Marlin
would give due consideration to any definite proposal that might be made, but
that it was doubtful if anything be done in the absence of such a proposition.
