Stabbing Affray at Mart.
-----
M. H. Gossett was stabbed and seriously wounded in an affray at Mart Saturday
afternoon.
Gossett is a brakeman on the I. & G. N.
railway. He and his wife room over the bank. Two men were standing
in the rear of the building swearing when Gossett went down to remonstrate with
them about it. This made one furious and he was promptly knocked down by
Gossett.
His
companion then assaulted Gossett with a knife and inflicted a deep wound in the
abdomen. Gossett will recover, without complications.
John Ramsey and a man named Starms were
arrested and gave bond in the sum of $250 each. They live in the country
near Mart.
