SPLIT LOG DOES THE WORK.
Stamford Utilizes It in Improving
Streets With Good Effect.
Stamford,
Texas, Nov. 28.--The split-log drag process was given a test on the streets of
Stamford today and same was a very satisfactory one. It was applied to a
street about a half mile long, which was well nigh impassable, and two drags
with the split-log made the street so that vehicles could pass over it without
the least trouble and it is believed that the split-log drag will be a process
which will greatly improve the roads of this section. The county
commissioners intend to make a thorough test of the process and have ordered a
number of drags made, to be used on the public roads. The soil of this
section is of a nature that yields to pressure and if the tests made are
satisfactory, the split-log drag will be put into general use throughout the
county.
