SPITTING ORDINANCE KILLED.

Council Postpones Action Indefinite-
ly--New Ordinance Proposed.

The city council postponed consideration of the anti-spitting ordinance
indefinitely Wednesday which has the effect of killing the measure.
The ordinance sought to prohibit the
expectorating on the sidewalks and has been strongly advocated by the Ladies
Social club, the mayor and others.
The subject of requiring safe electric
wiring was then taken up and the city attorney instructed to prepare an
ordinance for presentation at the next meeting, covering the matter.
Action on the ordinance regulting slaughter
houses, markets, etc., was postponed until next regular meeting.
