Not Obtainable.
-----
Sam H. Gann, a former well known citizen of this county, lies seriously wounded
at Big Springs in Howard county. This information reached Marlin in a
letter to Judge B. H. Rice, written by Dr. W. F. Johnston on Aug. 19 and
received Wednesday morning.
The letter was brief and gave no
particulars of the tragedy, merely stating that he was shot and was in a serious
condition and requesting that his relatives be notified, which was done over the
telephone by Judge Rice.
Mr. Gann was a citizen of this county for
several years and went west several months ago. He is a son-in-law of
James Gameson Esq., and is well known in the eastern part of the county.
