Rally at Methodist Church.
-----
The rally services at the Methodist church Sunday brought out large audiences
and resulted in a great revival of interest.
Rev. Hotchkiss, the ladies' societies of
the church and the church workers generally, put forth strong efforts for and in
behalf of this meeting and they were abundantly rewarded.
Rev. Frank M. Boyles of Houston delivered
two strong sermons, at 11 a.m. and evening services, which enthused and edified
the audiences to a marked degree.
In the afternoon at four o'clock Hon. Z. I.
Harlan delivered an address to men and and young men on Civic Righteousness, the
and state, which was one of the most forcible and clearest expositions ever
delivered by a layman. In his propositions he applied the cold logic and
sound reasoning so indpensible (sic) in carrying conviction to the
matter-of-fact man of today. The address was given the closest attention
and the audience was visibly moved. At the conclusion Mr. Harlan was
warmly congratulated.
