Popular Priest Celebrates.
Rev. Father P. A. Heckman of St. Mary's Roman Catholic church of Temple
celebrated the twenty-second anniversary of his ordination as a Catholic priest
at a birthday dinner tendered in his honor by Mr. and Mrs. Pat Bracken, on May
31, at which were present a large number of invited guests. Father Heckman
was ordained a priest in Cincinnati and almost immediately came to Texas.
He was stationed at Westphalia in Falls county for several years, finally being
sent to Temple remaining in charge of that parish for sixteen consecutive years.
He enjoys an immense popularity among members of all denominations and has often
been styled "the most popular personage in Temple."
