ONE KILLED IN COLLISION.

Two Trains Come Together Head-
on in Illinois.

Peoria,Ill., Nov. 20--One
man is dead, one fatally injured and a score more or less seriously injured as
the result of a head-on collision between the westbound Chicago and Alton
passenger train No. 51 and an extra Vandalia freight train on the T., P. and W.
railway one mile west of Farmdale and three miles east of Peoria at 10:30 this
morning.
Dead: Earl Wherff.
Fatally injured: Charles D. Lee,
Dwight, Ill.
All passengers on the Chicago and Alton
train were cut and bruised, many being taken to a hospital here.
The crew of the freight train are said to
have misread their orders.
